Air Fryer Pineapple Bites (Like Brazilian Grilled Pineapple)

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Air Fryer Pineapple Bites are the perfect combo of juicy, sweet, and spiced — caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside. Inspired by Brazilian-style grilled pineapple, these golden bites are a must-try whether you’re entertaining or just craving something tropical and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large fresh pineapple, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted melted butter
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Prep the Pineapple: Cut off the crown and base. Stand it upright and slice off the rind. Quarter it lengthwise, remove the core, then cut into bite-sized chunks (about 1–1.5 inches thick).
  2. Mix the Coating: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss the pineapple chunks until evenly coated.
  3. Air Fry Until Golden: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the pineapple pieces in a single layer in the basket (avoid overcrowding). Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until lightly browned and caramelized.
  4. Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm as a side, dessert, or even over vanilla ice cream or yogurt.

Notes

Fresh is best for texture, but canned chunks work—just drain well and pat dry first. Maple syrup or coconut sugar can be used in place of brown sugar. For a savory twist, add a pinch of chili powder or cayenne. You can prep the pineapple and spice mix ahead, then toss and air fry before serving.
