Description
A tropical detox tea inspired by Costa Rican traditions—ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, pineapple core, and lemon-verbena tea come together for a refreshing, hydrating, metabolism-friendly sip.
Ingredients

- 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, sliced
- 1/2 Tbsp fresh turmeric
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 cup pineapple core chunks
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1 lemon-verbena tea bag
- Optional: 1 tsp raw apple cider vinegar
- Optional: 1 lemon slice
- Optional: honey
Instructions
- Add ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, pineapple core, and water to a small saucepan.
- Simmer gently for 5 minutes to release flavors.
- Remove from heat, add the tea bag, cover, and steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain into a mug and add apple cider vinegar or honey if desired.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and enjoy warm, ideally in the morning.
Notes
Chill leftovers for an iced version. Swap lemon verbena with hibiscus for a ruby-red tea. Freeze the concentrate into ice cubes for quick tea on the go. Add chia seeds for a fiber-rich twist.
