Description
Pineapple Pretzel Fluff is an easy-to-make dessert salad that’s both sweet and salty with a little crunch. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, or a refreshing summertime treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup crushed pretzels
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (12-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, stir together pretzel pieces, melted butter, and ½ cup sugar. Transfer mixture to prepared baking pan, pressing down gently. It does not need to fully cover the bottom of the pan.
- Bake for 7 minutes. Let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and remaining ½ cup sugar with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in drained crushed pineapple and Cool Whip until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Just before serving, crumble the pretzel mixture and fold into the pineapple mixture, reserving some to sprinkle on top for garnish.
Notes
Drain the pineapple thoroughly using a fine-mesh sieve to prevent excess moisture. This dessert can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Store the pretzel mixture separately in a zip-top bag and mix in just before serving for the best crunch.
