  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for searing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken breasts 2–3 minutes per side until golden. This step adds depth of flavor but can be skipped if you’re short on time.
  2. In your slow cooker, combine cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Place chicken breasts in the sauce and coat them well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Shred chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks. Stir in sour cream for creaminess.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and parsley if desired. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or in wraps.

Notes

Swap sour cream for cream cheese for a richer sauce. Add veggies like carrots or peas for a complete meal. Use frozen chicken with extended cook time. Add a spicy twist with cayenne or hot sauce. Serve however you love — this one’s a keeper!
