Description
Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in a delicious cinnamon-sugar blend. Made in the air fryer for a fuss-free treat, these bite-sized churros are perfect for snacking, parties, or pairing with your favorite dips.
Ingredients
Scale
- Dough:
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- ⅓ cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- Coating:
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and gradually add flour, stirring until a smooth dough forms. Remove from heat and let cool for 4-5 minutes.
- Transfer dough to a mixing bowl. Add egg and vanilla essence. Beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Place dough into a piping bag. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray basket with nonstick spray.
- Pipe small bite-sized portions into the basket. Lightly brush with melted butter. Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy. Work in batches if needed.
- In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Toss warm churro bites in cinnamon sugar. Brush with butter or mist with water for better adherence if needed.
- Serve warm with dips like chocolate sauce, caramel, or Nutella.
Notes
Let the dough cool before adding the egg to prevent scrambling. Use a star tip for traditional churro ridges. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to ensure even cooking. Churro bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the air fryer to revive crispiness.
